Seraku’s Android mirror reflects your phone operating system

Article by on Sunday, 13 May 2012

Here’s a great use of Androids very open operating system, seen at Smartphone and Mobile Expo.

Android has been used in watches, phones, tablets and all sorts of other devices, but here it is, in a mirror! Now hold on before you start screaming “fad”, think of the real world applications.

The OS is really running from a stand alone tablet, the mirror really just outputs as a secondary display layered on top of the actual mirror.

You don’t actually touch the screen, rather hover above it by making use of the in-build RF proximity sensors.

The show prototype had water monitoring functions, and was coupled up to a set of scales in the floor.I would prefer new, weather and traffic while cleaning my teeth in the morning, much more useful!

Sounds like a good use of today’s tech in future applications.
